Abstract: Aiming at a problem of the model transformation from digital depth model (DDM) for navigation to DDM for non-navigation, the method for compensating the whole deviation is proposed to improve the accuracy of model transformation. First of all, the relationship between the whole deviation of DDM for navigation, submarine terrain complexity factor and chart scale was established. Secondly, the whole deviation of DDM for navigation is obtained by the above formula. Finally, the whole deviation is compensated to the model points of DDM for navigation to improve the accuracy of DDM for non-navigation to which is transformed form DDM for navigation. The experimental results demonstrate:①The proposed method is feasible to improve the accuracy of DDM for non-navigation to which is transformed form DDM for navigation. ②The degree of improvement of the accuracy DDM for non-navigation depends on the submarine terrain complexity factor and chart scale.
