Abstract: In this paper, a method of surface deformation monitoring of high risk rock mass based on 3D laser scanning is proposed. Firstly, the normal vector of the reference point of cloud data is calculated and the cylinder is constructed based on the normal vector of this point. And then calculating the regional center of gravity of the second-stage cloud data in the cylinder as the basis for comparing the two or more stages of the surface of the dangerous rock. We apply this method to Chongqing wulong-nanchuan district Jiguanling dangerous rock mass deformation monitoring, which gets a preliminary satisfying result.
