Abstract: The cross-track interferometry with high-resolution TSX/TDX data was used to detect the freeboard of the drift ice in the Bohai sea.The principle and data processing of measuring the sea ice using the cross-track InSAR were presented. Then the TSX/TDX cross-track interferometric data with high resolution were used to detect the drift ice in Bohai.A sea ice retrieval algorithm through the use of the phase information from the cross-track InSAR technique.Taking the surface of the sea lead as a reference surface, the sea ice freeboard was retrieved from the interferometric phase.Through the test,we found that the freeboard of drift ice in the Bohai sea range from 1.01 cm to 3.06 cm.And the average thickness was 2.376 cm.The experimental results show that the cross-track InSAR technique with high resolution is an effective means to retrieve the freeboard of the sea ice.
