Abstract: The national fundamental surveying and mapping program for medium and long term (2015-2030 years) points out development goals and the main task of the new fundamental surveying and mapping. As an important part of fundamental surveying and mapping, quality inspection of surveying,mapping and geoinformation is facing the opportunities and challenges of the situation. According to the characteristics of the new fundamental surveying and mapping "global coverage, both land and sea, updating, on-demand services, open sharing", this paper analyzes the opportunities and challenges faced in the premise of quality inspection, indicates direction of transformation development and main task, and puts forward to enhance the ability to lead the development as the goal. A bold attempt and useful exploration from standard construction, technological innovation and institutional mechanisms are made to meet new opportunities and meet new challenges.
