Abstract: University is an important platform for innovation ability training. It is an organic part of the national innovation system. Aiming at the lack of innovation ability of Chinese undergraduates, a new talent cultivation model of undergraduates' innovation ability driven by teachers' scientific projects is proposed combining with the problem-based research learning method in this paper. The sub-projects derived from the scientific project undertaken by teacher can be used to cultivate undergraduates' innovation ability by completing the scientific research tasks under the guidance of teacher. The current situation and existing problems of undergraduates' innovation training system are discussed. The advantages, approaches and system construction of undergraduates' innovation training using teachers' scientific projects are discussed as well. Based on the cases analysis in the last several years, the practice shows that good results have been achieved.
