Abstract: As a kind of historical archives, aerial film records the changes of geomorphic information such as city scale and facilities in detail. Due to the limited shelf life of the film, it is necessary to digitize it for permanent storage. Traditional scanning methods are inefficient, and with the birth of industrial-grade cameras of 100 million and more pixels, it is possible to photographing instead of scanning. In this paper, we use the self-made high-precision large format film reproducer, obtains accurate correction parameters through accurate inspection, and combine with the computer post-processing to complete the digitization of about 8500 historical aerial films in Kunming phase II. The results meet the requirements and achieve the expected purpose.
