A stylized filters and middleware technology of web map

摘要: 为满足如今网络地图服务中多样化用户群对定制地图的个性化需求,弥补当前矢量绘图方法中制图表达与符号设计的局限性,本文提出了一种基于图像技术的地图风格化滤镜方法,通过图像处理管线实现用户个性化定制地图,同时该滤镜也可作为网络中间件服务于各商业地图。本文探讨了交互式地图风格化从预处理、风格化处理到输出存储的具体流程,并以水彩画风格地图的实现为例,验证了风格化滤镜对促进网络地图多样化设计的有效性。

Abstract: To meet the increasing requirement of customized maps in web mapping environment, and to overcome the limitations of the current vector-based web mapping pipeline, this paper proposes a stylized map filter method based on image processing. We show that this filter is able to customize existing map images/tiles through the proposed image processing pipeline, and can be used as middleware for commercial web map services (WMS). This paper describes in details the pre-processing, image processing stack, and map tile storage of the framework. Finally, we use a watercolor map style as an example to demonstrate the proposed method, which shows its feasibility to improve the diversity and effectiveness of web map design.
