Abstract:

The development of ubiquitous mapping provides the new technical ways and forms to collect the state information of traffic system real-timely and dynamically.In this paper,the basic characteristics of ubiquitous mapping are analyzed first,then the typical applications of ubiquitous mapping in the area of urban traffic,for example,the estimation of mean driving speed and the traffic volume,real-time obtainment of traffic hot spots,and traffic guidance service,are proposed.It is verified that ubiquitous mapping can provide technical supports for the solution of issues in urban traffic system.
