Abstract: With the rapid development of city, city appearance is undergoing rapid change.Existing basic geographic information database needs to be updated in a timely manner to ensure the updating of the data and meet the needs of government departments and the public. In this paper,1:500 basic geographic information database fast update data source is introduced,then 1:500 basic geographic information data update method is described mainly,the method of updating 1:500 basic geographic information database by 1:500 topographic map is proposed,and the updating method is verified by an example.Finally, the significance of establishing the updating mechanism of 1:500 basic geographic information database is discussed,which plays an important role in reflecting the urban change and promoting the construction and sharing mechanism.
