Practice and Thinking of Flipped Classroom Teaching Mode in Geographic Information System Course

Abstract: For the problems of the teacher-leading teaching model, flipped classroom, a new blended teaching model, has been introduced into geographic information system course. Firstly, the necessity and feasibility of this idea are clarified, then the course program is designed based on the characteristics of GIS course and the differences between Chinese and western education system. The practice shows that flipped classroom stimulates the students interest, and improves the teaching quality, but a higher requirement of teachers' professional skills and teaching abilities.
