Abstract: In view of the problems existed in the course assessment of topographic surveying practice, the assessment system is built with the features of proceduring and quantification. Assessment content is set up focusing on students' practical ability. Diversified evaluation methods throughout the whole process of practice is formed and a quantitative performance evaluation standard is developed. The system can guide the students from passive learning to active learning and make the test from summative assessment to formative assessment. As a result, students' ability of practice and solving practical problems is strengthened, and the training mode of Surveying and Mapping Science in engineering education accreditation environment is consummated.
