Abstract: The emergence of cloud computing technology has great impact on the traditional GIS industry and good prospects for development, combined with the cloud computing technology to develop GIS system and services has become the development trend of GIS industry. Therefore, the cloud computing technology is very important in the cultivation of GIS personnel training. However, the current GIS courses are not involved in cloud computing technology, students can not master the knowledge and skills related to cloud computing. In order to solve this problem, according to the knowledge module of cloud computing technology in GIS, this paper analyzes how to improve students'ability of cloud computing through competition, and explores the training mode of "promoting learning by competition". This paper provides a new method for training professional GIS cloud computing talents.
